From a variety of shades of white through to the timelessly elegant anthracite, a broad range of colours is available to you. All markilux frame colours are available without surcharge.

No problem!markilux will be happy to manufacture the awning frame in a RAL color of your choice. Metallic, finely textured, pearl and matt finishes as well as those from other colour ranges (DB, Tiger etc.) are available on request. Our high-grade powder coating finish is guaranteed for any awning colour you choose.

You can also use the exclusive markilux "Selection MX", the special architecture edition for the markilux MX-3 or the color-intensive ambient lighting of the markilux MX-1 compact to set exciting color accents.

How are the markilux awning frames varnished?

The awning frame and the other visible parts of markilux awnings are usually powder-coated. This coating meets the international quality guidelines according to the GISCS (German Industrial Standard for Component Surfaces) and is well tried-and-tested in the moderate climate of Central Europe.

The standard equipment of all markilux awnings - with the exception of markilux 1300 – includes powder coating in the awning colors: traffic white RAL 9016, metallic aluminium RAL 9006, grey brown similar to RAL 8019, off-white textured finish 5233, stone grey metallic 5215, anthracite metallic 5204, Havana brown textured finish 5229. Your markilux specialist partner will have the corresponding original markilux awning frame colour cards ready for you, will be happy to explain the special features of a RAL coating in the colour of your choice and look forward to your visit.

When is increased corrosion protection recommended for awnings?

If greater demands are to be placed on the powder coating finish e.g. in coastal areas with a higher salt concentration and more moisture in the air or in places where there is strong industrial pollution, it is recommended that – to reduce the risk of the formation of hairline corrosion – a suitable chemical pretreatment is used.

What is the difference to awning colors in "normal" powder coating?

Aluminium components, for example, are pre-treated in advance of the actual powder coating process. This present stage in technological advancement represents a considerable improvement in the prevention of hairline corrosion caused by the conditions cited above.

The description of this process is summarised in the classification and test procedures for the coating of individual components under RAL-RG 631 for aluminium and RAL-GZ 663 for steel as well as the stipulations laid down in Qualicoat.

On request, markilux awnings with this coating with pre-anodization are available as custom-made products in accordance with RAL RG 631 and GZ 663.

General information regarding the maintenance of powder-coated awning components:

In locations with highly polluting emissions or an aggressive climate, the surface should be cleaned thoroughly at regular intervals of the “catalysts” which initiate the onset of hairline corrosion (so-called initiating salts, especially chloride) depending on the ambient levels in the atmosphere.
